| Nothing says America to me more than the "fruited plains" of Iowa and the coastline of Maine. |
Each year my father has his picture taken on July 4th standing in one of his cornfields (to determine how high the corn has grown). Two years ago I had the pleasure of watching my father and his great grandsons (my grandsons) have their picture taken in an Iowa cornfield.
Iowa will always be home to me. But another state has also captured my heart and has been my home for the past 20 years: Maine The bottom picture -- the Penobscot River in Bangor.
Iowa and Maine -- America the Beautiful!
